Any help with error code E48-32
please check cabling from the decoder to the dish if its all perfect it might be that its the lnb that is blown or the dish might be out of sight from the satellite,
Error e48 simply means that you have no signal coming to your dish, if need be We can send you our dstv installer to help,
how much do they charge u for that?
A normal call out fee would be R350 to clear such an issue, but depends some installers will go lesser, that is Johannesburg price
durban 280, other wise negotiate with you dstv installer, if prices include replacemnt of parts installation prices will go up
To get rid of E48-32 error, here’s what you gotta do:
Switch off the decoder at the wall socket. Pull out the white cable that is coming from the satellite dish into the decoder. You will see a satellite symbol on the decoder to help identify the cable to pull out. Then push this cable back in properly. Then switch on the decoder at the wall socket. Then wait for decoder to load. Error should be gone!

I just had the same E48-32 error and what I did is this;
I went to my settings tab and reset the decoder to factory defaults and seemingly it works.

What must I do if only two channels shows E48
restart your decoder, If the problem still persists, you will need to find an installer to come and re align your dish. possible answer is that the channels you receive have their signal frequency lock still on your dish and the others are out of range.
Summary : your dish has lost signal.
Im having problems with my decoder also giving me the e48 problem what should i do
please read through our forums, and see how the e48 can get fixed. mostly caused by bad weather, dish equipment failure, or bad cabling, try to restart your decoder or set it back to factory defaults. if problem persists, Find an accredited installer to check you cable and dish system.

Since installing a explorer and x-tra view, the x-tra view decoder only works for a few days them I get e48-32 error. I have called out our local installer who have been out at least 5 times at the callout rate, but nothing seems to work. I paid R2500.00 for the installation, what should I have expected( new cables etc). This did not happen and could this be the problem??. Please advise.
the 2500 is just an exorbitant pricing from your installers, if at all this never worked in the first place, a dstv installer is supposed to return and fix it at no extra costs,
costly may only if items in the systems were breached( got spoit). then the dstv installer would charge you , other wise , you can report that person to dstv , and if he was accredited he will be asked to make refunds, we shall be sending you an email shorlty, hopefully if you are in joburg we shall assist you
Hi guys please help, i am furious.
I’m in the Jo’burg region. My DSTV HD was functioning normally, until last night. There was a storm with strong winds. When we switched the decoder on after the storm the error “e48-32 There is no signal. This may be due to bad weather or a faulty connection in the installation”.
The weather is good today (Sunday, 16 October), but the error won’t go away. I’ve tried to restart, it doesn’t work.
I then went to reset to factory defaults, in the 4th step where i’m supposed to scan it displays this notification:
“This funtion cannot be performed as the signal strength or signal quality is poor. Please ensure that your signal or signal quality percentages are high enough.” I cannot proceed at this point.
And i refuse to pay anyone, this has nothing to do with me. A satellite issue must be resolved by DSTV, it’s their problem if the equipment is not good enough. I can not miss the Liverpool vs Man United tomorrow night. I hope this will be resolved effective immediately.

We are experiencing exactly the same issues as the above complainant after a storm this afternoon, Saturday, 5th November 2016.
On calling the DSTV Call Centre, all they say is bring the Explora decoder in to be checked as it is receiving no signal. If the storm was an electrical storm with a lot of lightening, I could understand that this may have caused a problem, but today there was some wind, not heavy wind and rain. No lightening, so how can this affect the decoder? We checked the dish and the LNB component and nothing has changed.
Please can someone give some advise as to how we can resolve this problem without having to call out an installer who charge a fortune.
hi julia , iam sorry but the dish can always move but in no way can you tell that it has, a satellite dish has three alignments,
if any of them gets mis-aligned then the whole system is down. iam sorry but you will have to find an installer to check what could be wrong, at times its the electrical components of the dish, comonly known as LNB

Hello. I have a problem. When I have itstalled 3 se cocos era. 2x4u and a explorier. All was working fine till last week. The explorier shows that e48. The other 2 is playing 100%. So I have checked the dish the lnb. Still the same but the explorier does get signal I check on the screen but still shows the e48. I change my wiring on the lnb. Just swop it around. So now the explorier plays nd one of the 4u decoder is now showing the e48. Pls help
check that cable for small decoder is connected to the legacy port on the slnb
hey I have e48 – 32 where as I cannot access certain channels informed that its due to bad weather or faulty installation.

how would I check the lnb to the satelite if thats the problem? if not what would be the problem?
Maxi first reset to default settings
if that dont help
take your ladder and inspect if the angle of your satellite is in a parallel direction to others of your neighbors
also check the smart LNB
then book an installer fast
A few channels on our Explora shows the E48-32 code and wont work. Strength and quality fluxuates between 0% and no more than 20%. After doing a reset to factory settings these channels work perfectly, strength and quality above 90%, then after a few minutes just the E48-32 code again. Three installers have checked the dish and our second decoder.
Any advice?
were the installers accredited , i think this is some installation any explora installer would solve, please refrain from using any installers
i have the same problem. No signal… but the strange thing is. I reste my decoder, after a while i got some programs (but not even 50% of those what family pakage offers). Than couple of hours later they disapear and i get a full list of programms from fammily package but with the info “no signal”..
The intaller was here and took 1400R. it worked 6 hours and than the same again…:((( any help?

Pathetic dstv installation, well that seems like a reap off, but the issue is consult your body cooperate to give you the contacts for the company that did the initial communal dish installation. a re amplification of signal is needed for your apartment. ( signal needs to be increased)

I also get this E48-32 error on some channels, all 3 tuners show my signals are strong over 70%,my alignment is correct, got new decoder last week, my problem is, Why after a factory reset the channels do work perfectly but afer a while again they don’t work, I have about 10 channels not working, please need help, why should I pay so much for so many crab channels, then the ones you do look at doesn’t work.
dish re alignment might be needed, and also if you are using a dstv switch it might be faulty, but most reason is a dish re alignment is needed
For 7 days now am still not connected tried restarting a million times but no joy. Went through the steps still nada!!! This was due to bad weather in the Eastern Cape.

We are on a second explora in 1 month. This error persists. Called out a few installers…error sorted for a few hours but back again shortly. We’ve even trimmed all the trees around dish thinking they block signal. We’ve also reset default factory setting but at the end of it all we pay 900 pm and don’t have the services we’ve paid for. We in ihb, any advice? Would a wifi extender help? Or should we migrate to smart tv and Netflix?
it only seems that you have had the wrong installers come to your premises, an acreddited installer will surely leave no chances or problems after rectifying dstv faults
please find the right installers.
